BENEFIT DINNER – KEMOLL’S RESTAURANT
JANUARY 29, 2012
Sorry this is sold out.
The Friends of Old St. Ferdinand are pleased and honored to announce a benefit dinner at Kemoll’s Restaurant at 1 Metropolitan Square, St. Louis MO We are especially pleased and honored to have Archbishop Carlson to welcome everyone and to have the Keynote address by His Eminence Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke, Perfect of the Apostolic Signatura.
The St. Ferdinand Historic District is composed of four buildings. The convent built in 1819 for Mother Duchesne of the Society of the Sacred Heart, the Church constructed in 1821, the Rectory in 1840 and the Schoolhouse first floor 1840 and second floor 1880. It is the site of many people we all are familiar with – Father DeSmet was ordained in the Church in 1827, the Right Reverend Joseph Rosati, First Bishop of St. Louis who consecrated St. Ferdinand’s Church, in 1832, the Right Reverend Louis William DuBourg, Bishop of Louisiana and the Floridas who brought Mother Duchesne to St Charles and to Florissant and worked tirelessly for her success. William Clark attended a baptism at the Church and visited several times. So many people were involved and the area remained a strong Catholic community due to the devotion of so many.
Now we are asking you to help us keep the buildings maintained and keep this spirit of devotion. Presently the maintenance needs are great. You will be hearing more about that at the dinner. We have attached a reservation form for the dinner on this website. Download the form, fill it in and sent it to us. The contact information is on the reservation form. Thank you so much for your Commitment to assist with the maintaining of St. Ferdinand Shrine.

MEMORIAL BRICKS
Did you attend church or school at Old St. Ferdinand in Florissant?
Are you proud of this Florissant landmark which played an important part in the settling of North County?
Would you like the opportunity to say thanks to St. Ferdinand?
The Friends of Old St. Ferdinand are giving you an opportunity to express your thanks. They are planning a Memorial Brick Garden on the Shrine property. People will be able to have their name placed on bricks and these bricks will be placed on the grassy area near the Blessed Mother Statue across from the school and church. You may place a brick with your name a name in memory of someone, the name of a business or any other message. This would make a wonderful gift for someone to whom the Shrine was an important part of their life.
The cost of each brick is $50.00.
Thank you!
